Our Student Success Stories - Cami Campbell

Congratulations to our former student, Cami, who earned a B.A. in Elementary Education from Washington State University! Cami loved her experience there: "The College of Education provided me with endless opportunities to teach students within all grade levels. Without the dedication and support from each professor I would not have the confidence, nor the knowledge of current instructional practices as I begin my teaching career."

At College Bound Consulting, Cami worked with both Stephanie and Kristen through the college planning process. "My College Bound consultant helped immensely in building my confidence during my two years there. Stephanie and Kristen walked me through the entire application process. Stephanie also assisted me in preparation of the SAT. My scores improved greatly the second time I tested thanks to her assistance."

Next, Cami will be pursuing her M.A. in Curriculum and Instruction while obtaining her California Teaching Credential.

Our Student Success Stories - Kathryn Klahn

Kathryn

As a student at Santa Clara University, Kathryn is involved in intramural sports and the Delta Gamma Sorority as a Finance Director.  She loved meeting new people and experiencing new things through these groups. She also joined clubs on campus and held an on campus job, which was a great way to network and enjoy her time throughout college. Outside of school, she enjoyed exploring San Francisco and all that Northern California has to offer.

We asked Kathryn what her favorite memory from Santa Clara is and she responded: “The friends I made freshman year are still my best friends today. We all live in a house together off campus. Off campus life at Santa Clara is really fun. The school is really small so you always see people you know walking to and from class. Everyone is really friendly and there's a great vibe of wanting to see your peers succeed. Santa Clara is very resourceful and located in such a great area for young professionals. I've yet to find anything about Santa Clara University that I don't love.”

Kathryn is currently a Financial Analyst at Cisco Systems. She is in a two year financial rotation program where she is able to learn different aspects of corporate finance. Kathryn was unsure what her next steps after college would be, so this internship has opened her eyes to many different options. Cisco Systems is located in Silicon Valley, and gives Kathryn a great network since it is such an established company.

Kathryn was such a joy to work with and we love seeing her succeed! Congratulations Kathryn, on your upcoming graduation, and we are excited to see what you do next!

Our Student Success Stories - Sam Ozenbaugh

Sam

As a former Poway High student, Sam attended UCSD and was a member of the Triton’s Track and Field team. He says that some of his  best friends were made from joining the team, and it has given him a great opportunity to network. Sam also participated in Cru, an on campus ministry where he was able to travel with a team to Puerto Rico for a missions trip.

When we asked Sam what he loved about UCSD he shared “I love the location, the people, and the academics.  The weather is always great and I can nearly walk to the beach to go surfing.  If you get involved, there are tons of fun and intelligent people to meet.  Plus there are a lot of fun places in San Diego, lots of people to meet, and plenty of companies to work for after graduation.  UCSD is a rigorous school and I've felt challenged throughout my whole career here.  It definitely isn't easy, but I feel well prepared for a career in engineering.”

Sam is currently a Technical Intern at Northrop Grumman. He told us that he loves the responsibility he’s given in the role. One of his first tasks as an intern was an individual project that he was trusted to complete on his own. Since that project’s successful completion, he’s been working as a manufacturing engineering intern designing tools for fabrication. One of the best things about working at Northrop Grumman is how they treat interns like full time employees, they respect and trust their interns and give them the tools to grow from the experience.

We loved working with Sam, and we are so excited that he’s attended a school he loved, and now has found an internship that will lead him to great things. Sam, we wish you all the best as you graduate and head into the workforce!
